When you hire a garage door company, you are trusting their technicians with one of your home’s most used mechanical systems. The warranty behind that work tells you everything about how a company views its own craftsmanship.
At Select Garage Doors, our warranty is direct and straightforward: we stand behind every installation our certified technicians perform.
What Warranty Does Select Garage Doors Offer?
Select Garage Doors offers a lifetime warranty on complete garage door system replacements and a limited labor and installation warranty on individual component repairs and replacements.
The warranty applies to products and materials both supplied and installed by Select Garage Doors. Coverage is focused on what our technicians control: defects in workmanship and installation errors. This is a clear, honest scope that reflects exactly what we are accountable for.
What Are the Two Warranty Tiers?
The Full System Lifetime Warranty applies to complete system replacements. The Limited Labor and Installation Warranty applies to individual component repairs and replacements.
1. Full System Lifetime Warranty
This is our top-tier coverage, and it applies when a complete garage door system is replaced by our team. The term “lifetime” is defined as the manufacturer-rated service life or cycle count of each individual component we install. Coverage is limited to defects in workmanship and installation errors committed by our technicians. It is the strongest protection we offer and reflects the confidence we have in our installation process.
2. Limited Labor and Installation Warranty
This tier covers individual component repairs or replacements, such as a motor-only service or a spring-only replacement. Coverage applies to the specific component our technicians worked on and is limited to workmanship and installation errors on that job. It does not extend to the broader system.
3. What Does the Warranty Not Cover?
The warranty does not cover mechanical part failure caused by factory defects, internal wear, or damage caused by a separate non-warrantied component.
Three exclusions apply clearly across both warranty tiers.
- Mechanical Failure Exclusion: If a component fails for any reason other than improper installation, that failure is not covered. This includes parts that fail due to internal defect or normal wear within their rated lifespan.
- Direct Causation Requirement: A warranty claim is honored only when a Select Garage Doors assessment confirms the failure was the direct and sole result of a workmanship error by our technicians.
- Manufacturer Liability: Any part failure that originates from a factory defect or internal mechanical issue remains the responsibility of the manufacturer, not Select Garage Doors.
The integrated nature of a garage door system also matters here. Garage doors operate as a series of high-tension, interconnected components. If a warrantied part fails because a separate, non-warrantied component placed abnormal stress on it, that damage is excluded from coverage. For example, a motor damaged by the excessive tension of a broken spring is not a workmanship failure on our part.
Why Does the Warranty Focus on Installation Rather Than Parts?
Select Garage Doors warrants the process of installation, not the mechanical longevity or internal integrity of the manufactured part, because those are two separate and distinct responsibilities.
Every garage door component arrives from the manufacturer with its own rated lifespan. That lifespan represents the manufacturer’s commitment to the part’s durability. What our technicians are responsible for is installing that part correctly, to specification, so it performs as designed. That is precisely what our warranty covers.
This boundary protects customers from confusion and ensures accountability sits where it belongs. If a part fails due to installation error, that is on us. If it fails due to a factory defect, the manufacturer is the right party to address it. We help customers navigate that distinction directly.
How Do I Submit a Warranty Claim?
Contact Select Garage Doors by phone or email and reference your original service date. Our team schedules a professional assessment to determine whether the issue qualifies under warranty coverage.
To start a claim, call (720) 339-2442 or email happytohelp@selectgaragedoorservice.com. Describe the issue and let us know when the original service was performed. A technician reviews the situation and gives you a clear determination. We do not charge for initial warranty assessments on covered services.
Why Does Select Garage Doors Back Its Work This Way?
Select Garage Doors is a Veteran-owned company. The values that guide military service, including accountability, precision, and integrity, are the same values that guide how we run our business. A lifetime warranty on complete system installations is not a marketing line. It is a direct commitment from the technicians who perform the work to the homeowners who trust them with it.
We are based in Parker, CO, and serve Greenwood Village, Castle Rock, Lakewood, Highlands Ranch, and the surrounding metro. For warranty questions or to schedule a service, visit selectgaragedoorservice.com or call (720) 339-2442.
